Yeah, make up for your lack of skill with dirty play, good game.

Hawks are the worst premiership team in the history of AFL.

’skill and toughness’? ..well i agree they’re pretty tough (although certainly no tougher than rugby players), ..but where’s the skill?…being able to pass the ball in any direction removes the art of creating space for team mates. As for the high-scoring….its bollocks, all you’re watching is a bunch of bloke’s kicking a ball between a couple of posts, …over and over again….yawn ..just can’t get into this game

  • Muff0 says:

As opposed to watching a bunch of blokes run across a line and stick their heads up each others asses? AFL has so many more dimensions than Rugby, what a joke of a sport that is.

  • Muff0 says:

    You were saying?

  • tdavies456 says:

Rugby’s a ‘joke’ sport is it? Lol ..that’ll be why its played to a high standard in countries like england, wales, scotland, ireland, france, italy, argentina, south africa, new zealand, and australia then; not to mention that its growing rapidly in many other countries around the world too. Very few people outside of oz even know what aussie rules is!

  • br00talmajestik says:

thats why its called ‘aussie rules’, and will continue to be australia’s national sport.

  • dancansss says:

all you do in rugby is watch a guy gt tackled and tackled and tackled until oops its over a white line.

  • haydn1207 says:

whats skillfull about rugby, any meat head can play, u throw a ball backwards and run forwards thats about as complicated as it gets, AFL requires skill on both sides of hand and foot, hitting a target at full pace from 50m on the lead, not to mention the surperior fitness required to play the game

  • abblet09 says:

rugby is fucked up like you

  • bautzy6 says:

wtf? unless your good at rugby don’t say shit about it, so many of you douchebags think rugby is for meat headshow does rugby not involve skiil, afl you get the ball run about 10m and then pass it and most peopel can kick when they run dickhead stop thinking itsso great, when afl is played in as many countrys as rugby then come bitch about it.

Barry Hall, what a dumb cunt haha.

    Aussie Rules

  • Cammo297 says:

mate kicking takes so much skill, for people who have been kicking for a long time its extremely easy but you give a footy to 3 quarters of aus and they wont be able to do a perfect drop punt

  • bautzy6 says:

so your sayign all you need in footy is be able to kick? well thats not hard to learn i can kick really well. footy needs more skiil for kicking no doubt but you cant say rugby has no skill, the amount of time you get to react to a situation is like 2 seconds max atleast in footy you get heaps of time to choose what your ognna do, and rugby you are in close you switch you dummy you short pass long pass twirl pass skip men etc. footy its mainly a hand ball and a kick, so its not really a

  • bautzy6 says:

sport that ‘ reqires skill’ for hands jsut kickign so ypu cant compare them, even though you harldy see tackles in footy and constant tiring tacjles in rugby

  • Cammo297 says:

no i never said that, and i haven’t taken away anything from rugby. Read what i said and it doesn’t say a single thing about rugby let alone saying it’s unskillful. You downplayed the skill of kicking and i tried to emphasize the level of skill required to kick a footy. and thats a load of crap, you obviously dont understand footy. You dont get “heaps” of time, only when you take a mark you’ll get to go back and take your time. It’s one of the quickest games going around, a lot faster then rugby

  • Cammo297 says:

A lot of footy is in close in the packs, you watch the players that stand out such as your Gary Ablett’s, Judd’s and Swan’s who are the players that react the quickest under pressure. You are just arguing for the sake of arguing to defend rugby. You clearly don’t understand footy and cant belittle it to say there’s no skill involved in footy.

  • Cammo297 says:

I think both sports are great sports and i love both, they have skills in different areas and some are more prominent then others such as tackling in rugby opposed to kicking in footy

  • barbs19788 says:

is there anyone else out there who’s having footy withdrawl symptoms or is it just me?

  • bautzy6 says:

fair enough about the first part, but you do getm roe time thne rugby, thats why you see rugby players hit a ball at pace into another guy, where as footy they get a kick and get about 3 seoconds before contact

Ok everyone. calm down. The ASSA has been watching these threads and we want those tough and rough rugby types to leave the AFL boys alone. Rugby boys are mean and should be nice like AFL boys

  • Cammo297 says:

2004, hawks smashed them in the biff, though bombers ended up winning the match by a fair margin lol
